Balachandran presented her Fulbright research as a Rao Bahadur Vemuru Ranganatham Chetty Endowment Lecture at the Government Museum, Chennai, on January 11th, 2010. The title of her lecture was "Glorious Icons: How Bronze Images Transformed the Mission of the Government Museum, Chennai, 1851-1947."
